Senior Research Scientist, In Vitro Oncology - Contract - Wilmington, DE
À±½·ÊÓƵ is seeking a dedicated Senior Research Scientist to join our client's team on a contract basis.
Primary Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will focus on conducting research and supporting in vitro pharmacology functions for oncology drug discovery programs. Your work will be pivotal in guiding compound development and exploring the therapeutic potential of drug targets.
Skills & Requirements:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in biology, Pharmacology, Cancer Biology, Genetics, Cellular Biology, or related field
- Strong background in Cancer Biology/Genetics and comprehensive knowledge of oncogenic signaling pathways
- Expertise in developing appropriate in vitro cell-based assays to investigate multiple cellular processes.
- Experience in advanced cell culture techniques, including three-dimensional (3-D) cell culture systems, co-culture systems and organoid culture systems
- Proven experience in molecular biology techniques for analysis of in vitro cell-based assays (western blot, qPCR, ELISA, flow cytometry etc)
- Excellent communication skills and a solid publication record
- Capability to work in a fast-pace and team environment
- Research Scientist (0-3 years of experience in biotech or pharmaceutical), Sr. Research Scientist (3-5 years of experience in biotech or pharmaceutical)
The Senior Research Scientist, In Vitro Oncology's responsibilities will be:
- Design, execute and interpret in vitro pharmacology experiments to guide compound SAR development and explore therapeutic potential of drug targets
- Apply chemical and genetic tools as well as state-of-art technologies to interrogate cancer biology and understand the mechanism of actions of novel targets
- Identify or develop appropriate in vitro model systems to answer key biological or pharmacological questions
- Work collaboratively across multiple functional groups to achieve drug discovery goals
- Communicate key findings to leadership team at internal meetings to help decision making
